Trophy Points

Trophy points are awarded for all UK Championship and Open Shows. Points are awarded for breed classes only. Points are awarded as follows:

Championship Show 1st 5 points, 2nd 4 points, 3rd 3 points, Reserve 2 points VHC 1 point. Additionally Best of Breed 3 points, Best Opposite Sex 2 points Reserve Best of Breed 1 point.

Open Shows 1st 3 points, 2nd 2 points, 3rd 1 point, plus an additional point for Best of Breed.

Puppies and Veterans are awarded an additional 2 points at Championship Shows 1 point at Open Shows for Best Puppy/ Best Veteran, applicable only to the Braccanza or Luca Trophy.

All points from Championship Shows are collected from the relevant websites (if you see an error in the online results please inform us), Open Show results are collected where possible from the dog press, however please submit your Open Show results to admin@bracco-italiano.co.uk prior to 31st January the following year to ensure all results are as accurate as possible.

The above points system applies to the following trophies and awards. Please note not all categories currently have a trophy and the Society would be delighted to receive trophies donated for these categories, or for a new category of your specification.

Championship Points

Gunsyn Trophy (Open & Championship points best 20 results, maximum 15 championship shows and minumum of 1 Open Show)

Curlabull Trophy (Open show points)

Braccanza Trophy (Top puppy)

Selwood Trophy (Orange dog)

Ardenstorm Salver (Orange bitch)

Hugo Memorial Trophy (Chestnut dog)

Gabriella Trophy (Chestnut bitch)

Luca Trophy (Top Veteran)

Top Sire (most points from progeny)

Top Dam (most points from progeny)

Top Breeder (most points from stock)

The following trophies use the (old) Pedigree points system i.e. 2 points for Best of Sex plus an additional point for Best of Breed, breed classes at Championship Shows only.

Homstar Trophy (Top Bracco)

Bonario Trophy (Opp sex runner up to Homstar)

Additionally the society awards the Bracco Italiano Society Trophy to the Bracco achieving the best results in more than one discipline (e.g. Showing, Field Trials, Working Trials, Obedience, Agility, Heelwork To Music or any other recognised KC discipline). Application should be made to any Committee member before 31st January the following year with proof of awards made.
